Recommendations on the acquisition of frames and framing of paintings, works on paper, fine art photography and textiles; work one-on-one with private collectors, art advisors and museum curators to frame artworks in historically and aesthetically appropriate frames. On-site guidance to ensure optimal presentation of artworks. 


Assessment and certified appraisal of frames for insurance, estate, and charitable donations. Certified, USPAP-compliant member of the Appraisers Association of America. 

Lecturing, Researching, and Writing

Lecture presentations and gallery talks for public and private institutions. Private guided tours of galleries and museums. Original research on frame history, focusing on both frame makers and frame styles. Authorship of magazine articles, exhibition catalogs, books and articles, biographical profiles, and essays for scholarly publications. (Bibliography on request). 


Development and strategy for frame exhibitions. Contributions to the research, development and presentation of exhibitions and projects.

Design of educational programs concerning frames.

NYU SCPS Appraisal Studies Program - adjunct faculty and conference presenter; Sotheby’s Education - created Collection Management seminar; Appraiser’s Association of America - authored picture frame certification exam.

Training Museum Staff and Docents

Design and presentation of lectures and workshops on the history of frames and their stylistic evolution conducted for museum staff, educators, curators and experts in the field.
